Assam
The state is located in North East part of India, 35 percent of the land of the state is the forest, The state is among very few Indian states with Two UNESCO World heritage sites and both the sites are National Parks. Assam is known for the beautiful nature and species, overall five National Parks & fifteen Wildlife Sanctuaries exists here. Assam no wonder is a heaven for wildlife and nature holidays.
Guwahati is very much connected with Rail and Road to nearby states and is easily accessible. The City Airport named Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport has regular flights from all major cities of the country.

- Kaziranga National Park : Spread over 430 Sq kms, The Kaziranga National park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Formed for the efforts to save and preserve the Indian One-horned rhinoceros during the British colonial era in 1908 by the efforts of top British officers, The national park is the home of more than 2000 One-horned rhinoceros in the region. Later on, the efforts of saving the tiger programme and improvement in the tigers tally in the park were later declared as a tiger reserve and now known as The Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve.
Locate beside the Brahmaputra River and its biodiverse climate and beautiful valleys and lakes packed with rare creatures are among the good reasons why the park is a world heritage site and a paradise for Wildlife enthusiasts, Elephants, Deer in groups are other attractions of the beautiful National Park. The tourists can enjoy the ride to National park on a Jeep safari.
Kaziranga is a popular tourist destination and is well-connected by road, The nearest Railway station from kaziranga is Furkating located at 76 KMS and private taxis and buses are easily available to reach Kaziranga national park. The nearest Airport from Kaziranga is at 96KMS at Jorhat. The Kaziranga national parks are located 227 KMS from the capital Guwahati.
- Orang National Park: Orang wildlife park is situated on the shores of Brahmaputra river and has mesmerizing view. It is very rich in flora and fauna. The major attractions here include One horned Rhinos, Elephants, and the very rare type of pig known as Pygmy hog, Porcula Salvania is the scientific name of this pig. You can also find Bengal tiger here.
- Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary: Gibbon sanctuary is located in the midst of the beautiful Jorhat which is famous for its breathtaking views of tea gardens. Jorhat is also known to be the cultural capital of Assam. It is home to the Northern Slow Loris.
- Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary: Pobitora offers what Kaziranga can and much more. The population of One horned Rhinos are more here compared to Kaziranga in terms of density. Aprt from that, you can witness wide variety of birds here including hornbills.
- Kakochang Waterfalls: Kakochang waterfalls is a must visit place in Assam. The breathtaking waterfalls is situated at a distance of around 1km from parking space. The waterfall offers a perfect place for a getaway to couples, family and group of friends. The shops near it sells pork cooked in bamboo shoots which is a local delicacy of Assam.
Must visit places in Dima Hasao District: Umarangso, Haflong, Maibong
- Umranshu or Umrangso : Umrangso is a must visit hill station of Assam in the district of Dima Hasao. This region offers great natural views and you can enjoy boating here. Camping can be done at Umrangso. Umrangso lake and Kopili Hydro project are other places to visit when here. Miyungma Daogah waterfall also offers an alternative to Kakochang.
- Haflong: Haflong is another place to visit in the Dima Hasao District of Assam. Haflong hill station is situated at a elevation of 966 m. Fiangpui Church and Gardens are worth a visit. Seikal Tumjang is a hidden gem perfect for trek lovers.

- Maibong: Maibong is famous for old houses and ancient houses built in the period of Kachari king. This place is situated at a elevation of 355 m.
- Diphu : If you can to learn about culture and history of Assam then there is no place better than Diphu. Diphu is place resided by indigenous communities. Diphu is home to many Kacharis tribes such as the Karbis, Dimasa, Boro, Garo, Rengma and Tiwa Kacharis.
